After a fantastic morning pouring through the John Kamb, Jr. photo collection, we are beyond excited! Such an absolute treasure trove of Mount Vernon history...
How about a tiny sneak peek?
This photo was taken around 1910 on the deck of the stern wheeler “Gleaner”. But the real question is, does anyone know any of these dashing band members?

Happy Election Day!
History happens every day. Today is tomorrow’s history. Be sure to make your voice heard in the community: go out and VOTE! Well, alright, due to the way we vote in Washington all you have to do is stroll to your mailbox, but you get the point.

Welcome to Our Site!
Hello and welcome to our site. Recently, we contracted with Arcadia Publishing to create a pictorial history book about Mount Vernon. Our town has a rich history that includes a giant log jam on the Skagit River, a visit from President Taft, an Opera House, an interurban railway system and so much more. Our hope is to bring to light the often overlooked history of Mount Vernon and hopefully discover some hidden gems of photographs that have never been published before. To do this, we will need help. We encourage anyone with stories to tell and/or pictures to share to contact us. This is going to be a fascinating journey and we hope to have many people along for the ride.
